EXCITING ANNOUNCEMENT!
We wanted to share with you our exciting Choreography Competition that we will be hosting at Reilly Smith Hall on Sunday 18th June this year! It will be our first one since Covid and we are so excited to share this with you all ….
Our Choreography Competition is open to all our students who are aged 7 and above to choreograph their own routine in any dance style they wish. We will have and three categories for students to enter;
- Solo
- Duet or Trio
- Small group
The categories will be judged in the following age groups;
- Ages 7 – 9
- Ages 10 – 12
- Ages 13+
There will be sign up sheets at the studio from today, Thursday 2nd March.
We will have an independent dance teacher not associated to the school come and judge and award 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in the above categories and age groups.
Students in the following classes will also be invited to take part in the Competition, performing dances choreographed by their teachers to showcase their style of dance;
- Saturday Tap Technique (Jess’ 11:15 class)
- Tuesday Jazz Technique (Mollie’s Tuesday 17:30 class)
- Wednesday Commercial classes (Jaz’s Wednesday classes)
- Wednesday Contemporary classes (Mollie’s Wednesday classes)
If your child is in the above class and would not like to or is unable to take part in the show please let us know as soon as possible as teachers will begin working on numbers in classes soon.
There will be rehearsals at the Theatre on the morning of Sunday 18th June followed by the performance in the afternoon.
Tickets will be available for the event after the Easter holidays. More details on this will follow
We will need chaperones to help backstage at the event, if you are able to help us with this if you could please let us know as soon as possible. Chaperones where possible will be able to watch dances their child is in either in the Theatre’s balcony or at the side of the stage.
